Ports of Auckland engaged Goliath Coatings for the main mechanic workshop bay where their massive container straddle carriers — weighing 20–23 tonnes — are serviced. They needed an extremely heavy-duty, line-markable floor that could take that load and constant abuse. Over a tight three-day window we ground back and fully removed the failed epoxy system, treated the oil-stained concrete, primed with Mapei oil-barrier primer (CC200), and applied two top coats of Mapei Mapefloor 451 polyurethane, chosen for its UV and chalk resistance in a sunlit bay. The 520 m² floor was completed with minimal disruption to operations, to the full satisfaction of the engineers and workshop manager.
